British Fashion label Burberry refused any report of their Chief Executive considering making a bid for fashion group Laura Ashley Holdings. Shares in Laura Ashley were up 8.9 percent to 12-1/4 pence on Monday afternoon, having touched 14-1/4p after The Mail on Sunday reported that Rose Marie Bravo, Chief Executive of Burberry, was thinking of making a bid for the retailer best known for its flowery fabrics and furnishings. "This is absolutely not true," a Burberry spokesman said. A Laura Asheley spokeswoman declined to comment. Turnover was just under four million shares, nearly four times normal daily volume.
