The WCT is a versatile mobile computing device specially designed to access the network wireless for both indoor and outdoor applications, either while on the road or the shop floor.
As such the WCT runs windows 98 / Me / 2000 and features an ultra low power CPU ( Transmeta ), 64 / 128 MB SDRAM, 10.4" or 11.3" TFT LCD (1024x768 ) with pen input and 10GB or higher storage capacity. The computer is housed in an ergonomically pleasing and lightweight ( only 1.5 kg ) magnesium case. Five hours battery autonomy is assured.
The WCT also comes with a docking cradle that supports CD or DVD Drive, USB, IEEE1394 and PS/2 connectors and that also makes it possible to use it as desktop replacement.
Applications extend across a wide range of disciplines - as far as the imagination goes.
Now, with all the freedom wireless capability allows the user can roam at will around an office or shop floor and effortlessly perform computing tasks with a special pen on the touch screen. Office, factories, hospitals, universities, schools, insurance and land surveying are just a few of the likely areas in which the WCT could find a ready application and market.
